Volunteer Overview

Are you looking for a rewarding and unforgettable experience? Do you desire to gain international experience, learn about another culture and study or practice Spanish? A volunteer at the New Hope Village can do all that and more. Volunteers form an integral part of the CVoH family by helping to supplement and support the work of our full time staff.

To be eligible to volunteer all one needs is to be over 18, have a will to learn Spanish, be motivated and hard working, and possess a love for children. At the Village there is always a great amount of work to be done, even for those who may not speak much if any Spanish at all. Volunteers are matched with jobs and responsibilities based on their own personal interests, abilities and special skills. Volunteers typically work in one of the following areas:
  • Childcare
  • Education
  • Agriculture
  • Maintenance
  • Community Development
  • Health & Wellness
  • Sports & Recreation
An example would be that a volunteer working in the area of education might tutor the children, teach classes, plan educational activities or help out with homework while a volunteer working in the area of community development might plan community service projects, organize community events or activities or facilitate community groups and associations.

The volunteers are all housed together in a fully-furnished house just four blocks from the Village. It is a great opportunity to make new friends from around the world. Volunteers are encouraged to immerse themselves into the community and enjoy all that Valle de Angeles has to offer. If you would like more information about the CVoH volunteer program, please download our Volunteer Handbook (PDF) or contact volunteer@cvoh.org.
