Overview
There is nothing quite like a "Vacation with a Purpose" to elevate your spirits and get you involved in the art of living. Here at Children's Villages of Honduras we offer two types of "Vacation Experiences" to meet the needs of the short term volunteer.
Mission Trips are all inclusive portal to portal trips designed to meet the specific needs of your group. Each of these trips is designed with a specific group in mind. We integrate the unique talents of each sending organization with the needs of the Village and its partners in Honduras. These trips range from 10 to 35 participants and usually last 9 days from Saturday through the following Sunday. The experience begins month ahead of the actual mission with orientation and group activities designed to bring your group to common goals and a real understanding of the accompaniment model of service in a foreign country.
Service Trips are a little more adventuress and rely on the individual to arrange their own transportation to and from Honduras. These trips are developed with responsible college students and adult participants in mind. Quite often the projects for Service trips are larger and cannot be completed in one week. It is common for some of the participants in a service trip to sign up for multiple weeks and not just volunteer for the one week minimum. Unlike Mission Trips the volunteers on service trips are seldom from one group or area of the country. You can sign up as an individual or with a group of friends and expect to meet others on the same service trip from other areas of the country and the world.
Regardless of which trip you choose to participate in you will be spending time with the children of our village and making friends in the community.
