The Original Hard Rock Cafe:
The original Hard Rock Cafe opened June 14, 1971 in London's Hyde Park across from Buckingham Palace.

The site of the first world-famous eatery was originally an old Rolls Royce showroom in the posh part of London. The first U.S. Hard Rock Cafe was not opened until 11 years later in Los Angeles (10/82).

Hard Rock Cafe Overview:
The world-famous eatery is known for its high-quality, classic American food and signature logo merchandise in an upbeat atmosphere with non-stop pulsating music and videos, and a music memorabilia-packed setting of unconditional welcome and conviviality. A global phenomenon, it has also built a reputation for being more than just a restaurant by maintaining an undying commitment to charitable activities and humanitarian causes.

Hard Rock Cafe's Menu:
Meals at Hard Rock Cafes are renowned for big portions, great value and fresh and healthy ingredients. Menus offer out-of-this world hamburgers (8 oz.) and veggie burgers, famous barbecue ribs, giant sandwiches including the popular Pig Sandwich, grilled fajitas and homemade nachos, slammin' soups and salads, a variety of mouthwatering desserts and more.

In addition, Hard Rock features seasonal specialties and its chefs give innovative spins on favorite items sold daily including the "Legendary Burger" and the "Smokehouse" Collection.

A unique drink menu features favorites from thick, old-fashioned shakes and malts to the famous Hard Rock Hurricanes complete with a 24 oz. take-home souvenir glass.

Hard Rock Cafe's reputation for friendly, efficient service is key to its popular appeal. Service to all ages and incomes is a company foundation and is reflected in its motto "Love All - Serve All."

The World's Largest Rock Memorabilia Collection:
Hard Rock Cafe International, Inc. owns the largest and most extensive collection of rock memorabilia in the world that is valued at more than $40 million and includes in excess of 69,000 individual pieces and growing! Dubbed by Andy Warhol as being the "Smithsonian of Rock 'n Roll," the awe-inspiring memorabilia collection celebrating music icons both past and present, is showcased around the globe at Hard Rock's Cafes, performance venues and hotels.

In order to act as a true "living museum," Hard Rock's musical treasures are rotated every seven years, and its collection is constantly being expanded through auction houses, donations, private collections, word-of-mouth and constant interaction with the public and entertainment industry.

A full-time staff oversees all aspects of the Hard Rock collection - from the initial procurement of an artifact and its cataloguing, to its maiden installation at a Hard Rock location.

Some of the more valuable pieces include: Elvis Presley's 1976 Harley Davidson with custom blue and gold finish, a Jimi Hendrix Gibson Flying V guitar used on Rainbow Bridge, the Beatles' Magical Mystery Tour Bus, Bo Diddley's first hand-made guitar (1945), Jim Morrison's famous brown leather pants worn at The Doors' 1968 show at the Hollywood Bowl and featured on the cover of the Absolutely Live album, Buddy Holly's popular black glasses, John Lennon's original "Give Peace A Chance" drawing that hung on the window behind his and Yoko Ono's bed, and Duane Allman's 1954 Fender Stratocaster -- one of the first Fender Strats ever made.

Some of the more unusual items in the Hard Rock collection include: Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder's personal guitar with lyrics written on toilet paper taped to the side, the front door from Abbey Road Studio covered with fan's grafitti, the snow globe with bride and groom inside from atop Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love's wedding cake, Stevie Wonder's diploma from Xavier University printed in Braille, dreadlocks from both Boy George and George Clinton, John Lennon's handwritten notes for his book "A Spainard In The Works" written on an air sickness bag, a trash can owned by Elvis Presley and used while at Graceland, and even Madonna's molar!
